Why I Became a Bookkeeper
Six years ago I had no budget, no game plan, was spending more money than I was earning and needed to make a change. Over the next few years I changed my relationship with my finances, created a strict budget and paid off all my debt. During this process I discovered a passion for finance and actually found myself enjoying it all (18-year-old me would be astonished to hear this).
Since then I’ve started taking care of the bookkeeping, budgeting and administrative tasks for my band and found I had a knack for it. Having all our financial ducks in a row gives us peace of mind, confidence and stability. It feels really, really good and I want to help others feel that too.
This is why I became a bookkeeper — to help others build a relationship with their finances, gain confidence in themselves and free up more time to do the things they’re passionate about.
Other Things About Me
I am also a professional musician/independent artist with a passion for songwriting, singing and performing. We write, record and release our own music as well as play a ton of cover shows at pubs and seniors centers all around Winnipeg.
I love reading and listening to audio books, especially high fantasy. My favourite author is Brandon Sanderson.
Hanging with friends and family, checking out live local music, playing Nintendo switch, cycling, cooking and gardening are some other things keeping me occupied right now.
